Time: 10:54 AM

Weather: Overcast

Readings: Numbers, chapters 11-15

Noteworthy verse:

“But while they were still chewing the quail, and had hardly swallowed their first bites, God’s anger blazed out against the people… there they buried the people who craved meat.”

Numbers 11:32-34

  • This verse made me thankful for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  God is a jealous God and his anger can be strong.  I’m glad Jesus died for my sins or I feel like I could have been one of the people who died in God’s wrath.
  • This verse reminded me that while God is loving, he is a force that is to be respected and feared.  Modern society, including myself, does not fear God enough.  Having the “fear of God” in you is a good thing.

Tomorrow is my 25th birthday.  I feel pretty good about it.  24 was a year of change: got a new job, broke up with my boyfriend, lost 13 pounds, and I got baptized.  I feel like 25 is going to be a great year and I’m excited to see what God has in store for me.
