Weather: Looks sunny from my window
Readings: Deuteronomy, chapters 15-19
“Give freely and spontaneously. Don’t have a stingy heart. The way you handle matters like this triggers God, you God’s, blessing in everything you do, all your work and ventures. There are always going to be poor and needy people among you. So I command you: Always be generous, open purse and hands, give to your neighbors in trouble, your poor and hurting neighbors.”
Deuteronomy 15: 10-11
- God calls us to be generous. This means that we’re not only called to be kind to the homeless men and women on the sidewalk and street corners, we’re called to be kind and generous to anyone who needs and requests our help.
- This verse states that there will always be poor and needy people among us. This is a simple reminder that life will never be perfect until Jesus returns. So while we can strive to improve conditions on Earth while we wait for him, his return will ultimately be what makes all conditions right.
Feeling a little rushed today, I didn’t have time to run this morning since I decided to sleep in 😛 But I’m excited to work hard and catch up with a friend tonight. I pray that my focus stays on God’s will and that His love shines through me to all those I come in contact with today.
