Time: 11:30 AM

Weather: Sunny, hot, and BEAUTIFUL

Readings: Joshua, chapters 6-10

Noteworthy Verse:

“As for you, watch yourselves in the city under holy curse.  Be careful that you don’t covet anything in it and take something that’s cursed, endangering the camp of Israel with the curse and making trouble for everyone.  All silver and gold, all vessels of bronze and iron are holy to God.  Put them in God’s treasury.”

Joshua 6:18-19

  • This verse was spoken to the Israelites in regards to a specific event at a specific time.  But I couldn’t help but imagine if modern society treated material possessions like this.  Imagine a world where instead of trying to accumulate as much stuff as possible, we treated all possessions as if they belonged to God and were merely on loan to us for the time being.  I think people would spend less time wishing they had more things, and more time appreciating what they already have.

Yesterday was much needed.  I was able to rest and relax before riding a motorcycle for the first time 😉  Today I woke up feeling refreshed and energized for the rest of this week!

I also successfully prayed and stretched for 30 minutes each yesterday.  I spent the 30 minutes of stretching in a deep squat.  My legs were numb by the end but my legs definitely feel like they’re getting more flexible.  Sometimes i find myself naturally sitting a deep squat because it’s comfortable.

This morning I spent 10 minutes in prayer just thanking God for all his blessings.
