“He knows and he’ll let Israel know if this a rebellious betrayal of God. And if it is, don’t bother saving us.”
- This verse references the altar built by the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manassseh. Israel was concerned that the altar was an act of rebellion, but the Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh claimed that it was meant as a witness between them and God of their connection to God. This verse is significant because it shows how God knows an individuals heart; it shows how even in the Old Testament when life seemed dictated by laws God knew individuals personally and cared about their well-being.
Unfortunately I didn’t get to see many fireworks this Independence Day… but I still managed to have another very fun weekend. I only prayed and stretched for about 10 minutes each yesterday, but that’s better than nothing. Today I’m off to a good start. This morning I prayerfully thanked God for his many blessings while stretching and enjoying a cup of coffee.
