Time: 8:21 AM
Weather: Sunny and beautiful 🙂
Readings: Judges, chapters 1-5
“They caught up with My-Master-Bezek there and fought him. They smashed the Canaanites and the Perezzites. My-Master-Bezek ran, but they gave chase and caught him. They cut off his thumbs and big toes. My-Master-Bezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to crawl under my table, scavenging. Not God has done to me what I did to them.”
- This verse struck out to me because once again it shows how God is just. He gives people what they deserve. This foreign king, My-Master-Bezek, used to mame him enemies and ultimately that is the fate he received for himself. Later on in Judges, it shows how the Israelites turn away from God and subsequently they experience defeat from their enemies and times of great unrest.
- The fact that God is just makes the sacrifice of Jesus Christ all the more gracious. Based on our actions, the last thing we deserve is an eternity in heaven. But God loves us enough to give us a choice to choose forgiveness, a choice to turn away from the just treatment we deserve: the choice to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior.
Yesterday I got back into my routine and I am feeling great this morning. It’s interesting how when you consistently make time to connect with God and time to work on yourself… how much happier, excited, and at peace you feel with your life.
I prayed and stretched for 30 minutes each yesterday, woot woot!
