“Gideon made the gold into a sacred ephod and put it on display in his hometown, Ophrah. All Israel prostituted itself there. Gideon and his family, too, were seduced by it.”
- This verse references what Gideon did with the plundered gold after God used him to defeat Zebah and Zalmunna. It’s disappointing how fickle we humans are. God had just rescued the Israelites from their enemies and instead of thanking Him they immediately start to worship a material object.
I feel all the more thankful for Jesus Christ after reading this verse. We truly don’t deserve forgiveness, but God has given us the opportunity for it anyway.
Today I am volunteering at a Bible camp for special needs children. I’m really hoping that I can be a light to them, they can be a light to me, and together we can lift each other up in Christ.
I prayed and stretched for 30 minutes yesterday and I’m feeling great!
