“What does this King of Israel think he’s doing? Who do you think you’re chasing? A dead dog? A flea? God is our judge. He’ll decide who is right. Oh, that he would look down right now, decide right now – and set me free of you!”
1 Samuel 24:14-15
- In this verse David is confronting Saul directly. After being chased by Saul, David had the opportunity to kill him and chose not to. It was an incredibly generous way to act toward Saul, who had done so much harm to David.
- This verse reminds us that ultimately God is our judge. No matter how unfair life may seem, God will decide who is right and who is wrong and people will be rewarded and/or punished accordingly in this life or the next.
- This verse also reminds us of the gift of Christ. No matter how evil someone has been, Christ has the power to set them free and relieve them God’s punishment of death.
My friend was supposed to be spending the afternoon with me… and cancelled on me. It’s always a bummer when people are flaky… but oh well. On the bright side it will give me time to focus on my interests, the opportunity to attend church tonight, and a chance to be productive.
Stretched and prayed for 30 minutes each yesterday!
