Time: 9:20 AM

Weather: Sunny, not too hot

Readings: 2 Kings, chapters 1-5

Noteworthy Verse:

“But his servants caught up with him and said, ‘Father, if the prophet had asked you to do something hard and heroic, wouldn’t you have done it?  So why not this simple ‘wash and be clean.’?’ ”

2 Kings 5:13

Significance:

  • In this verse Naaman, a general of the army under the king of Aram, had traveled a long way to be healed by God.  When he was given instructions on how to be healed he became upset because he thought they were too simple to be effective.
  • Naaman’s reaction reminded me of a lot of people’s reaction to the gift of salvation today.  They think accepting Jesus Christ as their savior in order to receive eternal salvation is too good to be true.  When actually, it really is that simple.

Feelings:
I have been super busy the past week, but it’s been a fun and exciting week.  I pray God keeps me focused on Him and doesn’t allow me to become too distracted.
