Natural Skincare: Egg Yolk Face Mask

Even when you put effort into eating right, sleeping well, drinking lots of water, and properly cleansing your skin… sometimes you’ll still suffer from an acne breakout.  That’s what happened to me this past week at least.  So I opted to switch up my usual skincare routine and return to a face mask that has worked for me in the past.  For the past few days I’ve been wearing this mask at night before I go to bed and I can already see and feel my skin condition improving 🙂

yolk maskIngredients: 

  • One egg yolk: preferably from organic, pasture-raised eggs


  • Simply use your fingertips to apply the egg yolk to your face
  • Allow the yolk to dry for 15 minutes
  • Use warm water and a washcloth to rinse it off

Egg yolks are good for your skin because they contain:

  • Vitamin A: which helps reduce wrinkles and control acne
  • Vitamin E: which is full of antioxidants and helps prevent skin cancer
  • Vitamin D: which helps control acne
  • Vitamin K: which helps reduce acne scars
  • Carotenoids: which help protect the skin from ultraviolet rays
  • Essential Fatty Acids: which help improve skin texture and reduce acne
