Time: 8:55 AM

Weather: Looks a little cloudy

Readings: 2 Chronicles, chapters 1-5

Noteworthy Verse:

“God answered Solomon, ‘This is what has to come out of your heart: You didn’t grasp for money, wealth, fame, and the doom of your enemies; you didn’t even ask for a long life.  You asked for wisdom and knowledge so you could govern well my people over whom I’ve made you king.  Because of this, you get what you asked for – wisdom and knowledge.  And I’m presenting you with a bonus – money, wealth, and fame beyond anything the kings before or after you had or will have.’ ”

2 Chronicles 1:11-12

Significance:

  • At this point in his life, Solomon had a pure heart.  His mind was not focused on the treasures of this world, but instead on fulfilling God’s plan for his life in the best way that he could.  Clearly this made God happy.  We should all strive to have a heart that is focused on God’s purpose for our life instead of focusing on our earthly wants.

Feelings:
Excited to see what today has in store for me.
