Time: 9:30 AM
Weather: BEAUTIFUL Fall Day
Readings: Job, Chapters 11-15
“If we humans die, will we live again? That’s my question. All through these difficult days I keep hoping, waiting for the final change – for resurrection! Homesick with longing for the creature you made, you’ll call – I’ll answer! You’ll watch over every step I take, but you won’t keep track of my missteps. My sins will be stuffed into a sack and thrown into the sea – sunk in deep ocean.”
- In these verses, Job is crying out to God and asking about his salvation. He is uncertain that there will be life after death and he is longing for answers.
- I feel so fortunate reading these verses. Job lived before Christ came to the world… and he must have felt so much uncertainty! Those of us in modern times are so blessed to be able to live with the reassurance that we can have eternal life with God and that because Jesus died for our sins on the cross all of our sins can be forgiven.
I am feeling very hopeful today.
